The 1st Masonic District roughly encompasses the area of Northeastern North Carolina

east of the Chowan River to the northernmost part of the outer banks of The State

and South of The State of Virginia. Eight Lodges are in the 1st Masonic District.

There are many cases in which The 1st District Lodges either have members that have Dual Membership

in a Virginia Lodge and a 1st District Lodge or  a 1st District Lodge has Honorary Members From Virginia Lodges.

Which proves that Freemasonry works well across political boundaries.

There are regular Scheduled Visitations between Virginia Lodges and First District Lodges that are a high point in the year.
