Earl's Career

Who I Played With:

I was on the road from 1968 to 1976. During that time I was directly employed by Skeeter Davis, Barbara Mandrell, Roger Miller and Jim Ed Brown of the Grand Ole Opry.

In 1969 while employed by Skeeter Davis I met and worked with Albert Lee in Europe. We stay in touch and I am proud to call him my friend.

I was staff guitarist on two syndicated tv shows: "The Country Place" and "Nashville On The Road".

While I was working at Opryland Theme Park from 1976 to 1984 I was staff guitarist on Porter Wagoner At Opryland TV Show for two years.

I moved over to the Opryland Hotel in 1985 where I played the convention circut and also worked with harpist Loydd Lindroth.

I ended my musical career in 1987 to pursue other business interests. I returned to playing music  in 1998`.

I cannot forget to mention my wife of 32 years, Marcy Cates Erb, who was formerly one of the Cates Sisters and had many recordings on Caprice, MCA, and Ovation Records and performed with Jim Ed Brown in the early 70's.
